A healthy, beautiful smile is something that everyone deserves! At the Dental Ark and Stevenson’s Dental Ark, you can trust that our highly trained professionals will devise the perfect plan for your orthodontic goals. Orthodontics are the way to preserve and create a lifetime of beautiful smiles, but more importantly, healthy smiles as well.

How Do Orthodontic Treatments Work?

Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or plastic and may either be removable or be brackets bonded to the teeth. During the process, the Orthodontist creates a plan which involves a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction. This gently pressure is applied to the teeth which slowly moves the teeth in the desired position.

Gone are the days that unsightly gear or headpieces are the only options to get a perfect smile. Today’s dental technology has allowed for wires to be far less noticeable, color options to be available for some appliances, and technology that moves teeth faster and with far more comfort. Many options are now available to patients to best fit their preferences.

Duration of Treatment

Treatment time varies from patient to patient, but typically falls somewhere between 1 and 3 years. Several factors can determine the length of treatment, including age, treatment method, and how minor or server the patient’s situation is. One of the biggest time factors can be the diligence of the patient!

A patient who is dedicated and involved can result in a quicker treatment time.

Before beginning your orthodontic care, your doctor will discuss all of your options and will provide an estimate for how long your treatment could take. Please contact Dental Ark and Stevenson’s Dental Ark to schedule an appointment and learn more about the orthodontic services that we provide.
