Fact: Many parents believe that if a cavity is discovered, the dentist will take the tooth right away. This, however, is not the case. Myth: The child will be completely unaware of what is going on.
Fact: The exam includes a section on dental education. What is going on must be communicated to both the youngsters and the parents. Dentists would also gladly address any questions you might have.
