The doctors at the Dental Ark believe that to help address dental fear and anxiety, it is beneficial to understand “the patient’s past experiences with dentists and dental treatment.” Our doctors work hard to reassure the patient and parents and ask questions so that we understand their concerns. Those concerns include any negative and positive experiences they’ve had in the past with dentists and dental treatment. Then we also use adjunct behavior management methods such Tell Show Do, role playing, rewards and positive reinforcements. For treatment we are very proficient with the use of nitrous oxide or oral sedations to help alleviate dental fear. We want kids to love us and maintain a positive outlook when it comes to the dentist as they become adults!
